Report your injury

If you’re hurt at work, report it to the WCB. Although reporting a workplace injury can be overwhelming, we will make the process as easy as possible.

Step 1: Report your injury to your employer

Tell your manager or supervisor you were hurt at work as soon as possible. They may ask you to fill out a form about the injury. If your employer does not have a standard form, you may use the Notice of Injury to Employer form.

Your employer is responsible for reporting your injury to the WCB within five business days of learning about it.

Step 2: See a healthcare provider

Seek medical attention for your injury. Let your healthcare provider know you were injured at work.

You can attend the Worker Care Clinic or see a healthcare provider of your choice.

Learn more about the Worker Care Clinic here.

Step 3: Report your injury to the WCB

If you miss time from work or see a healthcare provider because of a workplace injury, call the WCB to report your injury.

A WCB representative will take details about your injury and other information needed to open your claim. You will be given a claim number and an adjudicator. The adjudicator will gather information from all parties to make a decision about your claim and whether you are entitled to benefits.
