Release Date

The Workers Compensation Board (WCB) will continue using Canada Post services for all mail delivery, including injured workers' wage loss, pension and medical aid cheques and healthcare providers goods and services cheques until further notice.

At this point, Canada Post and the Canadian Union for Postal Workers have not indicated what type of job action may be taken. At this juncture, the WCB will continue to monitor the situation and will re-institute its Postal Disruption Contingency Plan if necessary.

In the meantime, the WCB suggests that its stakeholders consider implementing the following arrangements:

Injured Workers and Healthcare Providers:

  • Direct Deposit is a great solution in view of the continued potential for a postal disruption!
  • To avoid having to pick up cheques in person should there be a postal disruption, we encourage injured workers and healthcare providers to set up Direct Deposit. To do so, visit our website or call 204-954-4321 or 1-855-954-4321.

Employers:

  • Employers can pay their premiums in a number of ways as an alternative to sending payment via Canada Post.  For details, visit www.wcb.mb.ca/paying-your-premium or contact Assessment Accounts at 204-954-4505 or 1-855-954-4321, ext. 4505.
