Plan ahead with these 5 tips

1 – Try Our 5-Minute Return to Work Employer Self-Assessment

Return to work programs are an important part of a worker’s rehabilitation process. Contributing to the workplace, even in a different way, lessens the personal and financial impact and helps in their recovery.

If you already have a return to work program in place, see how it measures up with the WCB’s employer self-assessment tool. If you don’t, learn how to create one by following Step 2.

Take the 5-minute self-assessment.

– Register for a Free Workshop

Before you start planning how your business will deal with workplace injuries or illnesses, it’s important to understand the role of the WCB and how we can help. Our free workshops detail your responsibilities as an employer and help you navigate all the steps involved when a worker is injured on the job, from start to finish.

3 – Sign Up for Claims Online

Claims Online is a quick and easy tool that helps employers manage their employees' injury claims. It allows you to view cost details for claims registered for your company and can also assist in managing your monthly claims costs. Claims Online is one of the tools the WCB provides as part of our commitment to deliver faster and better service to all Manitobans.

4 – Order Posters for Your Workplace

The WCB has a variety of resources to help both workers and employers remember their rights and responsibilities in the event of an injury or illness. Displaying posters in your business demonstrates your commitment to supporting workers in their recovery, and reminds workers of their role in the workers compensation system.

All posters can be downloaded and printed from wcb.mb.ca, or ordered for free by contacting wcb@wcb.mb.ca.

The following posters are a great place to start:
