Training application portal guide

Before starting, make sure you are using a supported browser like Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari. Internet Explorer is not recommended.

Create an account

Visit the training provider application portal and click Create Account to create your profile. You will be brought to a page that will ask you to provide an email address, name and create a password. Your email address and password will be your login credentials for the application portal.

Confirm all the information is correct, then click Register. You will receive an email that contains a link to verify your account. The link is valid for one use and expires after 48 hours. Note: This link will not work in Internet Explorer.

The email will be sent to the address used to create your account. If it doesn’t show up in your inbox, check your spam/junk folder. If you still don’t see the email, it is most likely a network security issue. This may require your IT team to grant access to the portal.

Once you have verified your account, you can log in to the Training Application Portal on SkillsPass here and create your training provider profile.

Creating your training provider profile

Your profile contains information about your organization that SAFE Work Manitoba requires, including details about your organization and your profile administrators.

Your organization’s business name, address, email, phone number and logo are required. Your website and business description are optional.

The administrator of your profile is the individual who will manage course offerings and registrations. The only information required from the administrator is their first and last name, along with an email address. You can provide details for a second administrator, but it is not required.

Any changes you make will automatically save, so you don’t need to complete your profile application all at once. After you submit your application, you won’t be able to change your profile details. If a change is required, please contact the support team.

Once you’ve successfully submitted your application, you will be brought to My Applications on the portal dashboard, where you will see that your profile has been approved. Now you can start applying for courses.

Starting an application

To start an application, pick one of the options from the drop-down menu under Launch New Application. Make your selection and click Launch to start the application process.

There are three different types of applications: General training, Course and Trainer.

The general training application is for non-standard courses that have been approved by SAFE Work Manitoba. The course and trainer applications are for training standards, such as Workplace incident investigations or Hazard identification and risk control

Submit a course application first. Once you are approved to train the course, you can submit the trainer application.

You have four options for the delivery method of your course: in-person, virtual, eLearning and blended. Blended is a combination of instructor-led (in-person/virtual) and eLearning. The only exception is Confined space entry, which can only be instructor-led.

After launching an application, you will be brought to an instruction page. This page provides an overview of the application requirements, including the necessary documents. Download the documents from the provided links and complete them before proceeding to the next step.

Next, select the answers that apply to your application, upload the required documents and click Continue. If you have provided all the required information and documents, you can hit submit. If you are unable to submit, return to the previous page and add the missing information.

What’s next for my application?

Your application will be reviewed by SAFE Work Manitoba and will appear as In Triage. To monitor the status of your application, navigate to My Applications and check the Status section.

If the reviewer requires additional information before approving your application, it will be indicated under the Status section. In the image above, it is indicated with Triage Has Deficiency.

To view the notes, questions or recommendations the reviewer added to your application, click View and proceed to the final page of the application. After you have made your updates based on the feedback, click Submit.

You will receive email notifications when you submit your application and whenever the status of your application is updated. These emails will come from no-reply@bluedrop.io, so it is recommended to add the domain as a safe sender.
