SAFE Work Certified

SAFE Work Certified is Manitoba’s safety and health certification standard. It helps make workplaces safer and financially rewards employers who take proactive steps to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.

Certifying partners, or Industry Based Safety Programs (IBSPs), are an employer’s first point of contact for safety and health certification questions, including SAFE Work Certified.

SAFE Work Certified is built around the safety essentials of leadership commitment, hazard identification, risk control and worker participation. By meeting this standard, employers that obtain SAFE Work Certified for their organization can benefit from:

  • lower WCB premiums over time
  • improved employee engagement
  • assistance in meeting legal safety requirements
