Policy Update 04-2025

• Cost relief/cost transfer - Class E employers #31.05.10: The 2026 threshold amount for recalculating current year and prior years’ assessment rates was added into Appendix B of this policy.
• Cost transfer - individually assessed employers #31.05.15: The 2024, 2025 and 2026 threshold amounts for recalculating current year and prior years’ assessment rates was added into Schedule B, Appendix A of this policy.
• Statement of investment policies and objectives #32.00: Policy amended by Board Order 29/2025 on October 6, 2025. Revisions to the policy include annual updates to the characteristics of the Policy Asset Mix table, updated asset mix and rebalancing guidelines, and the removal of the Core Plus Bond mandate.
• Terms and conditions of optional coverage #35.10.120: The 2026 minimum and maximum coverage amounts were added into Appendix A of this policy.
• Placement of employers into industry classifications #35.20.10: Policy amended by Board Order 30/25 on October 6, 2025, effective immediately. The revisions clarify the WCB's authority to create new industry classifications when such is necessary to protect the assessment rates of an existing industry classification.
• Rehabilitation for spouses or common-law partners of deceased workers #43.10.50: The 2026 maximum annual net employment income level was added into Appendix A of this policy.
• Recurring effects of injuries and illness (recurrences) #44.10.20.60: The 2026 maximum and policy cap levels were added into Appendix A of this policy.
• Annuities #44.100.20: The 2026 threshold levels for converting a lump sum payment into an annuity and eligibility for independent financial advice were added into Table A of this policy.
