General Purpose:

Do you know an organization that excels when it comes to its first aid programming? Consider sending in a nomination for the SAFE Work Manitoba / St. John Ambulance Award for Excellence in Workplace First Aid.

This award recognizes an organization that has exemplified excellence in its commitment to and implementation of first aid programs over the previous year. Excellence means going beyond regulatory compliance – an organization may, for example, connect first aid programs to safety and health programs and other workplace injury and illness prevention efforts.

Other examples of excellence include:

  • training staff in mental health first aid
  • using social media and other communications to keep first aid top of mind
  • creating inclusive first aider teams, reaching out to all workers and demographics in the organization, including leadership representatives
  • conducting practice drills and simulations
  • acknowledging success and lessons learned
  • installation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and other safety equipment

Nomination deadline August 2, 2024

Please contact Bryan Wall at St. John Ambulance at bryan.wall@sja.ca for more information and to submit your nomination.

Administration of the award:

The Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba will present the award at St. John Ambulance Council’s annual Investiture ceremony in the Fall.
