Legislative review

The Workers Compensation Act (the Act) requires the appointment of a review committee at least once every 10 years to review the Act to ensure it reflects workplace, economic and societal changes.

The Government of Manitoba has appointed The Workers Compensation Act Legislative Review Committee (LRC) to undertake this independent consultation. The committee will complete this work and deliver a report by the end of 2026.

From January 5 to March 31, 2026, the Legislative Review Committee (LRC) sought input from workers, employers, labour unions, industry and safety associations, key stakeholders and interested Manitobans, to gain a thorough understanding of the issues.

The consultation period is now closed and the Committee thanks all Manitobans who submitted feedback. Please watch for updates throughout 2026 as the LRC begins work on completing our report.
