Your responsibilities as a healthcare provider

• Diagnose and treat the injury or illness using evidence-based practices. 
• Provide information, advice and assistance to the injured worker, including any certificates required by the WCB at no cost to the worker.  
• Communicate the worker’s abilities to both the worker and employer. 
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support the injured worker’s recovery and safe, suitable return to work. 
• Complete and submit WCB reports promptly. 
• Bill the WCB for medical aid within 12 months of the worker’s discharge or 12 months of the worker’s return to work following their injury, whichever is shorter.
