Testing facilities operated by a manufacturer to test their own products are incidental to the manufacturing operation and are classified accordingly. Denture/dental labs or prosthetic labs are classified under 315-17 – Manufacturing dental, medical, jewellery and ceramic products.

“In-the field” research and data collection, including: Hydrogeology (soil testing in the field) non agricultural Timber cruising – forest inventory (assess tree volume, type and surrounding ecosystem) Water stewardship (gathering water samples for testing; surveying), by shore or by boat. Construction consultants, inspectors and estimators hired by a construction company are incidental to the construction company’s activities and are classified accordingly.
