WCB surveys

The WCB values your opinion

To continuously strengthen the services we provide to workers, employers and healthcare providers across Manitoba, the WCB conducts several surveys throughout the year.

These surveys help us understand how our services are working, identify opportunities for improvement and make sure that Manitobans receive the support they need at every stage of their claim.

Will I be asked to complete a survey?

Employers

If your workplace has had one or more injury claims, you may receive an email invitation to complete a short online survey.

You may be surveyed:

• After a short-term claim is adjudicated.
• After case management services have been provided, if the injury requires case management.

These employer surveys complement our annual Employer Satisfaction Survey. The annual survey begins with a phone call to a sample of all registered employers, including workplaces with no injury claims, who may choose to complete the survey either by phone or online.

Workers

Workers may be contacted to participate in a confidential telephone survey.

You may be surveyed:

• If you have a short-term claim: A random sample of workers are surveyed on an ongoing basis.
• If your claim is in case management: You may be invited to participate in a survey.

Healthcare providers

Physicians and other healthcare providers who have treated injured workers may receive a fax or email invitation to complete a survey.

Who will contact me?

All WCB customer surveys are conducted by Prairie Research Associates (PRA Inc.).

Under privacy laws, the WCB is permitted to provide minimal contact information to the survey researchers to invite you to participate.

Are the surveys confidential?

Any information you provide is strictly confidential. Your individual answers are never identified and no one’s results will be singled out. All reports prepared for the WCB contain summary information only, not individual responses.

Participation in all surveys is voluntary.

How long do the surveys take?

Most surveys take only a few minutes to complete.

Short-Term Claims and Case Management surveys begin by asking whether you have a few minutes available, and most respondents complete the full questionnaire in approximately 5 minutes.
