Protecting your personal information is important to us.

That's why as of January 1, 2013, the WCB will begin communicating electronically with all of our customers in a more secure way.

Secure e-mail is an electronic solution that will help us ensure that your personal health information and personal information is protected. It's a legal requirement that stems from The Workers Compensation Act(WCA), The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).

Sending a secure e-mail means that the contents and attachments are encrypted so that information is delivered securely.

As a recipient of an encrypted e-mail, you'll be required to go through a one-time registration process to read the e-mail. Once you've taken five minutes to register, you simply need to click on a Send Secure button when sending an encrypted e-mail, and enter your password to view an encrypted e-mail.

Another option to communicate securely is to find out whether your organization can enable TLS. TLS (Transport Layer Security) is another secure e-mail option that ensures that information is automatically transmitted securely.

Learn more about becoming TLS-enabled.

You can also view our Secure E-mail User Guide for step-by-step information on how to register as a secure e-mail user.

We're always here to help. If you have any questions or for more information, please contact us at wcb@wcb.mb.ca.
