Assessments FAQ for February

By the last day in February of each year, all employers registered with the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba must have provided the required payroll information to the Workers Compensation Board. Payment is not required at this time - we will notify you in March of your premium details including payment dates.

What is the best way to provide the WCB with the completed Annual Payroll Information?

The fastest and easiest method to report your payroll is through our online Payroll Reporting System. The online reporting system is only a click away, is available 24/7 and has onscreen help right where you need it.  When you report your payroll online, you do not have to send us a paper copy of the form. A single use Access Code is provided in your annual payroll request letter sent early in January along with your account number to allow you to access this easy reporting method.

What happens if I do not return the form to the WCB by the last day in February?

Annual Payroll information received after the last day in February will be charged a 5% penalty based on your premium. If you do not send us your information by April 30, the WCB will estimate your current year premium and a 10% penalty will apply. The maximum late filing penalty is $5,000. Postmarks recording the mailing date are not taken into consideration when charging late filing penalties.

When do I have to pay my premium?

Your premium amounts and due dates will depend on the FlexPay option you selected. FlexPay allows employers to select a payment plan that best suits their business needs.

Employers also have several convenient options on how to make their premium payments, including pre-authorized debit or credit card.
